Paintings auctioned to help poor children enjoy 'Tet'

The two paintings entitled 'Happiness Tune' and 'Spring Colour' will be auctioned in a televised charity programme on January 17 to raise funds for needy children.

The programme, which takes place concurrently at the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hanoi and the Television Theatre in Ho Chi Minh City at 8.30pm, will be broadcast live by the two cities' television stations.

The pictures were painted by Van Duong Thanh with assistance from 100 underprivileged children at a vocational centre for people with disabilities and orphans in HCM City and an orphanage in Hanoi.

All proceeds from the televised auction programme will be used to buy Lunar New Year (Tet) gifts for unfortunate children nationwide.

The programme is sponsored by the Vietnam Association in Support of Poor Children and the HCM City Association for Sponsoring the Disabled and Orphans.
